Brazos Bend State Park is a scenic, beautiful, 5,000-acre Park on the Upper Texas Coast, carved over time by Brazos River and Big Creek. There are many great Lakes, some of them oxbow Lakes separated from Big Creek. There are large marshes, great prairie, and hardwood forest areas, giving perfect habitat for a wide variety of wildlife. I like this park very much and I am grateful for all of the quiet times, unforgettable memories, and award-winning photographs. I am volunteering in the park for more than 30 years and I proudly call it my home.

Brazos Bend State Park is about a one-hour drive from Houston. Take Hwy 59 South to Crab River Road exit then drive to George Ranch State Historical Park, then follow the Brazos Bend State Park sign on the winding FM 762 road. About 14 miles from there, the Park entrance is on your left. If you drive from Houston on Hwy 288 South, exit to FM 1462 West, follow FM 1462 to FM 762 North then drive about 1 mile, the Park entrance is on your right.
