Laszlo led his Bird Photography Workshop at High Island Rookery for Houston Center for Photography Students

Laszlo led his three parts, 10 hours, Bird Photography Workshop for Houston Center for Photography (HCP) (/link)) students on May 16th (Part 1) at HCP, May 18th (Part 2) at Houston Audubon High Island, TX, Smith Oaks, Clay Bottom Lake rookery (link). This was a sold-out workshop, and all of my seven HCP participants and few guests were excited to observe and photograph nesting wading birds at the rookery. We were lucky with the weather, the light was good and even the wind helped us to photograph flying against the wind birds. The predicted weekend thunderstorm shifted to the northeast, we had a cloudy sky, sometimes sunny, mostly overcast and windy, but no rain. I gave assignments (motion and communication) to my students, discussed composition and behavioral observations, solved many technical difficulties and we all enjoyed the outing. The image critique and discussion meeting will be on May 23rd (Part 3) at HCP.

“Through the Lens” Photography Hike for Reptiles and Amphibians at Brazos Bend State Park, TX

Laszlo led his Naturalperl “Through the Lens” photo hike for Reptiles and Alligators at Brazos Bend State Park, TX on May 4, 2019. Six of us walked slowly at the West side of Elm Lake then on the Spillway Trail to the bridge, and back. The weather was nice, we got sunshine and shadow play on the leaves. We looked for alligators and bullfrogs. Spotted few here and there, heard a lot of different kinds of frog vocalizations, photographed few birds, and we observed a hungry American alligator feeding on large fish. We had a good time together, discussed our visions and images on location.
